Eastside United FC is a non-profit, community based program dedicated to sharing our vision and love of the game of soccer. We are the most professional and progressive soccer club on the eastside and we strive in offering a variety of opportunities for children to experience and cultivate a passion for soccer. One such offering is our Recreational Spring League. ESUFC Recreational Spring League is a league available for children U5 through U14 who want to learn skills and play soccer purely for the fun of it.
New this spring we've added a High School Coed 7v7 league. This will be available to U15-U18 players and will mirror the men’s and coed 7v7 leagues that the club began a couple of years ago Cost is $90 per player and includes two (2) t-shirts and socks.
ESUFC-Recreation is a genuine non-competitive recreational club where children are taught the game of soccer through practices and soccer matches and where, no matter the child’s skill level, everyone has equal playing time. No scores are kept and rules are set in place to keep all teams on an equal playing level. It’s all about the joy of the game. All of our recreational coaches are volunteers and we require them to attend our age appropriate coaching module trainings and a NYSCA coach certification class. We also run background checks on all the coaches and require them to sign a Coaches Code of Conduct agreement. ESUFC kicks off our season with a jamboree held on April 10th with our regular season games beginning April 24th and running through June 5th.
FYI -- Our teams fill up fast so don’t be left standing on the sidelines – REGISTER EARLY!! We hope you can join the ESUFC family for a phenomenal soccer season of learning, camaraderie, and most importantly – FUN!!!
Just a reminder that due to the lack of field availability in the Sandy/Welches area during spring season, ESUFC holds all spring games in the Gresham area. We will do our best to form Sandy teams, if possible. This means that there must be a Sandy coach and enough players within the age group from the Sandy area to form this team. If the team wants to practice in Sandy, it will be the team’s responsibility to secure a field. Otherwise, practices along with games will all be held in Gresham. After a successful fall season in Clackamas, we plan to continue on with our spring league for our U5/U6 and U7 players. U8 and up will play in Gresham, however, we will do our best to form Clackamas teams, if possible, with the same provisions as noted above for Sandy/Welches participants.

TEAM FORMATION
PARENTS - PLEASE READ OUR PARENTS Q&A SECTION FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
- U5, U6, and U7 teams will be formed by schools when practical. Coaches are allowed (2) freezes, one of which is their own child.
- U8-U14 coaches will be allowed (3) freezes which includes their own child and two others. The rest of the players will be randomly drawn from the player pool based around schools wherever possible.
Parent/Player Requests: The only requests accepted are coach freezes, player/buddy request, a parent’s request to place player back into the player pool, and parent request not to have player play for a specific coach. No other requests will be honored – this includes car pool requests.
Player/Buddy Request: If two players would like to play on the same team, we will do our best to make that arrangement. In order for this to take place, BOTH players must make the request to play together (player “A” requests to play with player “B” and player “B” requests to play with player “A”). Each player must include their buddy’s full name on their registration. Players may only request (1) buddy and both players must be registered on or before March 13th AND ESUFC must be in receipt of full payment for the buddy request to be honored.
PARENTS: ESUFC requires that each parent new to the club attend a mandatory parents meeting. We will share our mission statement and explain the club’s soccer philosophy to new members. ESUFC will also outline the expectations of the club, the coaches, the players and the parents. All parents will be required to sign a Parent Code of Conduct. This is on the backside of our paper registration forms and is included in our on-line registration.
PLAYERS: Your first practice will be a group practice at Gresham High School on the turf field. During group practice, players will meet their coach and teammates and participate in various soccer skills and games. Uniforms will be available for pick up and ESUFC club gear will be available for purchase. We understand that this is the first weekend of spring break and some families may have plans and will be unable to attend. Due to field availability, this is the only weekend we are able to schedule a full day on the turf field. For those unable to attend, a special evening will be set aside to hand out uniforms prior to our jamboree on April 10th.
GROUP PRACTICE/PARENT MEETING
Saturday 3/20/10 @ Gresham High School, 1200 N. Main Ave.
After this, your child’s individual ESUFC Recreation coach will determine days, times and field location for team practices
JAMBOREE: The spring recreation season will kick off with a jamboree on April 10th. Field location is Gradin Community Sports Park. At the jamboree photographs will be taken and a short game will be played. Uniforms will be available for pick up and tickets to our EastSide Night with the Portland Timbers (game date TBD) will be handed out with additional available for purchase. We will also have our ESUFC Club Gear available for purchase. An e-mail reminder will be sent out prior to the jamboree to remind participants and coaches of the date & location.
FUNDRAISER: There is no fundraiser during the spring recreation season.
